Due to hard times and lack of jobs there are number of small businesses you can start, using very little capital and earn some cash, with less than 2k or 20$. You can start a small business especially school leavers and people who are looking for jobs, some of these businesses are:

1  selling fruits

Fruits help us in our body so fruit selling is one of the booming business especially in our cities, towns  and centers.To start a fruit business all you need some little cash, to buy some fruits e.g mangoes, pinapples, water melon, oranges depending on the type of fruits you what to sell.You can put inside a bucket and go to bus station and parks or you can also sell them as pudding.

2 selling charcoal

Charcoal business also is one of the simplest business to start and requires very little capital.You need few empty buckets to put charcoal, one suck of charcoal, a small space and you are ready to start.

3 selling chips

Potatoes chips is also very profitable business especially in urban center, to start selling potatoes chips you need a jiko, karai or oven big spoon is needed to remove the chips inside the karai, tomatoes sauce, salt and of cause a bag of potatoes and you are ready to start your business.

4 selling drinking water

Selling water especially in cities and towns is another business which does very well, you only require an empty bucket which is used to put water bottles. You can also add few sodas and juices on your stock to start these kind of Business you only need less than 2k which is equivalent to about 20$ and you are ready to start.

5 shoe polish

Shoe polish is also another business which require very little capital to start, you require a chair which is used by customers, shoe polish atleat two types black and brown a brush, soap and a piece of cloth for washing the shoes when is required  and you are ready to start.

6 selling ice cream

During the months of January, in Africa we experience very hot condition in terms of weather which makes these business very favorable. so during the day our body requires something cold, so ice cream business will definitely pick and you will make alot of profit.

7 boiled eggs

Boiled egg business, you need about 2 trays of eggs, empty bucket to minimize on your capital boil your eggs at home ,you only need to buy charcoal, buy tomatoes and some onions other customers will ask for pepper, that's only what  you need to start the business.

8 selling vegetables

Vegetables like sukuma wiki (kale), cabbage, onions and tomatoes is another business which does very well, these is because people must eat and during these hard times most of the families in Africa eat vegetables especially sukuma wiki (kale), you need a small shed and you are ready to start.

9 selling boiled/ roasted maize

Maize business is also very profitable, you need a suck of green freash maize a jiko and some charcoals a sufuria for boiling maize all these will take you about 2k or 20$ since a jiko and sufuria you already have them at home.

10 selling mandazi/chapati

Mandazi and chapati is also booming business every morning during breakfast most people prefer eating mandazi or chapati since they are cheaper compared to bread, you need cooking oil, 2 packets of wheat flour a pan, jiko, charcoal and you are ready to start the business.

11 selling sweets/ groundnuts

Most people do take some businesses very lightly and they assume these business are for uneducated people, example selling sweets and groundnuts these business does very well especially in stages, parks, towns and near schools, churches what you need is a small box  or an empty bucket and you are ready to start the business.

12 selling boiled cassava/ sweet potatoes

These is another business which people ignore, but we Africans most of as grow eating these types of food so, because these type of food is very rich in minerals and very affordable, compared to cakes and bread. People prefer eating these type of food these days, which makes the demand to be very high and hence you make more profit especially during breakfast. You only need 1 bag of cassava or sweet potatoes a jiko and you are ready to start.

These are some of the businesses you can start with as little as 20$ and you earn so much, especially youths who complain there is no jobs wake up these is the time to make change of your life.
