Things you did not know about Africa

There are some things you don't know about Africa and  I think you better know, it is believed that the human race is of African Origin because the oldest known skeleton remains excavated at somewhere called Omo in the country of Ethiopia which is on the eastern part of Africa. also Africans were the first known advanced Agriculturist people in Egypt's western desert cultivated crops of berbey ceper, chick peas, dates, legumes, tentils and wheat.

Sudan has more pyramids than any other country on earth even more than Egypt there are 223 pyramids in Al kumi, Nuri and merde cities in Sudan 

And also do you know Glass window existed in Ghananian  Emperor in 1116A.D. 

The Nigerian city of Kano in 1851 produced  an estimated 10 million pairs of Sandals and 5 million hides each year for export.

 Ethiopia was ranked as one of the  worlds greatest empire it as the third most important state in the world after Persia and Rome in the first half of the first Millennium. Ethiopia has 11 underground mediaval churches built by Being curved  out of the ground. Surprising about Ethiopia is that they have 13 months in a year based on their calendar, which means they are on 2014 as of now  9 years behind the usual calendar, They also measure the hours of the a day to different schedule based on the logic that clock starts when the day does. Ethiopia is too the only African country Never to have been brought under colonial control and is also birthplace of Rastafarian Movement.

Do you also know that South Africa is the only country in the world with 3 capital cities Johannesburg, Capetown and Pretoria. South Africa is known to be the first country which performed complete transplant which occured in Capetown, South Africa is the first country to produce  oil from coal. S.A is also the largest producer of fruits the country produces 90% of all the Platinum metal on  Earth and about 41% of all worlds Gold.

Egypt has the highest yield of potatoes in  Africa and 10th Globally

Kenya is ranked 3rd in the export of pineapple (canned) after Philippines and Indonesia.

Mali the country in the west Africa in the 14th century was highly urbanised. Thus was laid the foundation of  an urban civilization. Mali has at least 400 cities and the interior of the Niger Delta was very densely populated.

It is believed that mount Kilimanjaro belonged to Kenya until the year 1886 when Queen Victoria ( who was ruling Kenya) gave it to her grandson , Kaiser Wilhelm 2 of Germany ( who was ruling Tanzania) as a birthday gift. Saying that Kenya could have two tallest mountains in Africa i.e Kilimanjaro and Mt Kenya. However the rivalry of Kenya and Tanzania Today, Tanzania will tell you that Kenya will never have the mountain and Kenya will tell you that Tanzania may have the mountain but Kenya Owns the View!

Africans were the first to organize fishing expedition 90000 years ago at Katanga, Congo.

The biggest producer of cashew nuts in Africa and Globally is Cote D'Ivoire 837,850 tonnes, Tanzania 2nd in Africa and 4th Globally with 210,786 tonnes.

Five ancient coins believed to have been minted in present day Tanzania date back to the 8th to 15th century A.D they were found in Australia. The coins were made of copper, silver and are thought to have been been used as trade currency.

The two African leaders killed out of envy and jealous, due to their pragmatic leadership styles. Idi Amin of Uganda was a major flesh of foreign invaders who wanted to take illegal possession of the Nation's resources. Muammar Gaddafi of Libya a leader who wanted to place Africa at the center of the World as the world's economic power.

There are 53 countries in Africa most countries have many different ethnic groups amongst them they speak over 900 languages.The largest country in Africa is Sudan covering 2.5 million square k.m while the smallest is the Seychelles which consists of a group of islands north of Madagascar.

Swahili is the language which is spoken by many people in Africa over 200 million people who are in 12 African countries i.e Tanzania, Kenya, Uganda, Rwanda, Burundi, D.R.C, South Sudan, Somalia, Mozambique, Malawi, Zambia and Comoros.

Nigeria is termed as the Giant of Africa because of the following reasons ; The largest film industry in Africa.                                                                           

The worlds biggest fertilizer plant 

The largest News network in Africa.

The largest oil refinery in Africa.

The largest cement plant in Africa.

The largest rice mill in Africa.

The largest economy in Africa.

The Richest country in Africa.

The most populated country in Africa about 200 million people.
