Why is Africa still the least developed continent?
Africa is regarded as the richest continent in the whole world because of it's values. Africa is rich in minerals and resources from North Africa, Central, Horn and Southern Africa. Most of people have been wondering how comes a rich continent in the world becomes the poorest continent. Many countries depends on minerals to manufacture, unfortunately the transaction between Africa and other continents is not fair or rather equal.
DR Congo is the World richest country with regards to minerals resources, Congo DR is the Worlds largest producer of Cobalt which is exported to make engine for cars, planes, ceramics and batteries for electric appliances. Congo also has large uranium deposit, which is used for nuclear weapons and Atomic Bombs, The country has also Worlds second largest diamond reserve its also one of the world largest gold producer. DRC is ranked 8th largest oil producer, producing over 4.1% of oil reserve per annum. DRC is so rich that many sources say that one can dig out minerals with his bare hands.
Nigeria was formerly called slave coast, nobody really cares about African people, only it's minerals. How comes people who came for evangelism dumped their missionary work for slavery, looting their dignity and resources. Nigeria is the leading producer and exporter of crude oil. Also the fifth oil producer in the world it also has other under- exploited natural such as gas , coal, gold and bauxite.
South Africa is a nation with huge diverse minerals potential, it leads in the production of chromium, Manganese, platinum, vanadium, vermiculite the country also produce ilmenite, palladium and zirconium.
Liberia is among the top iron ore- producing countries in Africa, and has a potentially long future in the mining sector due to the under-exploration and current development of mining projects of global significance. Before the civil war Liberia was the world fifth largest producer of iron ore, In the 1970s Africa leading producer of iron ore deposits in the world.The western cluster iron ore project consists of three deposits including two idle mines Span Bomi, Grand cape Mount and Gborpolu counties. Liberia iron ore mining plays significant role in the economy, iron helps in the manufacture of steel which provide an opportunity for building and infrastructure, automotive,metal products e.t.c.
Zambia the main producer of copper on the continent, it has about 65-77% of the copper supply. Copper is good conductor of heat and it is mainly used for electrical wiring in the building and construction, copper is also combined with iron and other metals to give brass and bronze.
The Republic of Guinea renowned for the richness of it's subsoil, which contains bauxite, it alone would cover 95% of the continents bouxite production, which is estimated at 40billion tonnes of reserves.
Libya has oil reserves estimated at 48billion barrels. The largest on the continent, ninth in the world with the largest recoverable oil shale reserve of 26 billion barrels.
Niger a country in the western part of Africa, produces Uranium which is used in the nuclear power plant industry, Niger produces 44% of the continents supply. it exports represents 40% of the country's total.
Cameroon is endowed with various riches of the soil and the subsoil. which contains oil , nickel, Cobalt , Manganese which is estimated to be over 64 million tonnes and rich iron reserve of 200 million tonnes and also poor iron of 1.2 billion tonnes, bauxite valued at over 1 billion tonnes.
Ghana contains 15% of the continents total gold production, it's ranks 2nd after South Africa, it's soil also contain Manganese, bauxite and Diamond Ghana is also second producer of cocoa in Africa after Ivory coast.
Africa is very rich in minerals and resources, cash crops it has also labour force since about 60% of it's population is youth, Kenya is known for tea production in Africa, tea impacts thousands of families 10% of Kenyan population depends on tea. and it's one of the leading producer in the world. Kenya is also leading in the production of Flowers in Africa and earn billions of cash through Flowers.
The inlerent environment in Ehiopia is so perfect that great coffee can be made without anything else. There are over a thousand different type of coffee grown in Ethiopia, which is grown mostly in the southern mountains. Ethiopia is one of the leading exporter of coffee in Africa.
The question now remains why is Africa still the least developed continent, is it poor leadership or there mindset?
